Noted local architect Clarke Waggamon in 1918 constructed
the all-new interior,
and the house then was "modernized" with
early 20th century furnishings. When your host, Paul Rhodes, acquired the
building in 1986, he restored and redecorated the interior to reflect the
building's original era. Every level of the four-story
Inn has antique Beaux Arts furniture, oriental rugs, and polished wood floors.
Murals and art from Paul's extensive collection adorn the walls of every room
and the hallways, with several rooms featuring painted scenes on the ceilings.
Most notable is a continuous mural depicting birds flying and foliage climbing
up the undersides of the stairs.
